About
Dimitris Georgakopoulos (Dimitris Geo) was born and raised in Athens.
His father's love for photography filled his childhood memories with piles of film negatives stacked in cardboard boxes and numerous photo albums with the characteristic rice paper between the pages. As a natural consequence, his involvement in photography was not long in coming. With a Kodak Pocket Instamatic 100, a gift from his father, he took his first black and white shots.
In the 70's he experienced the revolution of color photography and at the beginning of 2003 he also got to know digital photography. He was won over by the convenience of immediately seeing the result of the shot and helped him, as a self-taught person, to improve his technique and his photographic vision.
With his first DSLR he dealt with new photography techniques (macro, high speed, etc.) that quickly won him over because they capture snapshots and reveal optics that we cannot observe with the naked eye.
